A group of us have been meeting weekly and reading the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. We have met for the last 4 weeks and discuss each chapter over bagels, muffins and coffee. This last week we were discussing faith and what that looks like. We were all going around the table and discussing what we thought it was to live out our faith. As we each took our turn in an attempt to describe faith, it started to become apparent to us that faith is not something we could necessarily affix a description to.
We began discussing different folks we knew and were reading about in the book who loved Jesus and wanted to desperately follow Him, but looked and did things so differently than us. At the end of the breakfast I am not sure we had any more clarity on what faith looked like, but I know we did have a greater understand the freedom that Christ gives us to serve Him and live out our faith.
