ME!

I think more often than not, we make the cross and the tomb about us.  We look at it about everything that Christ did for us and how it gives us eternal life.  To be honest, it is hard not to look at such a gift as revolving around us, but if we really look at the text and view what Jesus said we will know that while we receive tremendous benefit from the cross and the tomb, it is not about us.

Over and over before His crucifixion we see Jesus speaking about the glorification of the Father and that as He was glorified that the Father would indeed be glorified.  So what does this mean?

It means, the first and foremost the cross and the empty tomb was intended to bring glory to God the Father not for our benefit, however it does also mean that God loves us so much that He chose to share in the glory with us as benefactors or as Paul states as heirs!

Pretty amazing isn't it, the God of this universe who is insanely jealous of His name and glory chose us to be partakers in that. No words can describe that kind of love!
