- How do we reach our community?
- What is the best way to do outreach?
- What has the most impact when it comes to outreach?
These discussions have been rather frustrating because I think we are all looking for some magic answer, a golden ring that will lead us to a wonderful height that we can scale and declare we are doing outreach!
When I think of Jesus and His outreach, I think of one word: RELATIONSHIP
Jesus had no outreach agenda or program, He simply built relationships with people and He did so by meeting them where they were. Could you imagine Jesus going to the tax collector Zaccheus and saying "come down from that tree and come to my church tonight for Bible study?" Nope, Jesus went to where he was - his house - and sat with him and dined with him and built a relationship with him and this is the model.
We want to reach out to the lost and we are running around and trying to figure out the right methods, the right opportunity to engage. Well, we know how to talk right? We know how to eat? We know how to help someone carry something to the car right?
So what are we waiting for?

that's great if you have the time, but what about the incidences where you will probably never see the people again? like in an airport or on a train?
I think we should witness whenever we have the chance i.e. airports or trains etc. However we have a much better chance to build relationship with those around us on a daily basis: neighbors, co-workers etc. People we rub shoulders with everyday or just live down our street and we should be following Jesus' example in these cases.
